Marcus is often overwhelmed with the cares of life, lacking the wisdom to determine where to focus his attention in any given moment …

“For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:6

Wisdom is imperative as we move through life. It’s the guidance for next steps to aid us in becoming the people God intended. It’s the insight behind the decisions to be made in order to fulfill His purpose in our lives. Without wisdom, we find ourselves wondering aimlessly with no destination. It’s the essential ingredient to cultivate one’s thoughts. As a believer, we can find wisdom in God’s Word. A resource which holds the instructions for any circumstances we will ever encounter. Wisdom is a necessity, not an option.

“Get wisdom! Get understanding! … Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you. Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom.
And in all your getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her.” Proverbs 4:5-8

The passage, Proverbs 4:5-8, speaks to the attitude we should possess regarding wisdom. It is not characterized with as being lackadaisical. Our drive for wisdom should be with a sense of urgency and after obtained, we should cherish it. The presence of wisdom ought to be viewed as an endearing experience, never a desire to be without it. It is through this viewpoint we realize the benefits accompanying wisdom. Wisdom helps us to maintain a perspective regarding what thoughts to nurture as well as the thoughts when should reject from occupying the seat of our emotions. The pursuit of wisdom involves gaining understanding. Understanding helps us to apply the wisdom we have gained.

… When Marcus realized his lack of wisdom, he began daily to sought God to give him wisdom to live out each new day. He began to believe God is more than able to guide his every step when he acknowledges God along life’s pathway.
