“Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;” 1 Peter 1:13
Probably most of us can attest to moments when our thoughts were all over the place. These moments may be brought on by some random event which causes our emotions to surge upward or plummet downward. Whatever the direction of our emotions, our thoughts seem to scatter, with no central focus in sight. Some of us were able to collect our thoughts. While others even after a great deal of time has passed from the event’s occurrence, loose ends from the scatted thoughts and dangling emotions still remain
In Peter 1:13, we are instructed to pull our thoughts together. Those loose ends of bitterness which power the frequency of angry thoughts. The fragments of ungratefulness found supporting depressive thoughts. Even the strands of sadness blocking the “would-be” joyful thoughts. In order to live the abundant live God purposed for each of us, we must tighten up our thoughts, align them with the Word of God. It is God’s Word that enables us to correct the wrong thinking and thoughts outside of the Will of God.
“The tighten of our thoughts, under the guidance of God’s Word positions us to live life abundantly”_ASA
