“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
The onslaught of problems is an occurrence we all encounter from time to time as we journey through life. I have heard it described as “If ain’t one thing, it’s another.” The phrase depicts a circumstance being as soon as we have overcome one problem, immediately, another challenge arrives at our door. Challenges encompasses trouble at home or on the job, a health or financial crisis and community or the world at-large difficulties. Depending on the thoughts we foster, our attitude is pessimistic one moment and hopefully the next. Due to the pressures brought on by problems, it’s easy to concede that many of us can succumb to the flood of dismal and anxious thoughts.
The antidote provided in Philippians 4:6-7 is to make a decision not to worry about anything. Instead of worrying, from a posture of gratitude, tell God about everything that troubles you. Although God already knows, telling Him is an act of faith on our part as well as acknowledgement of His capacity to turn things around, whether externally or internally. Moreover, the gesture opens us to receive God’s peace. With God’s peace, overcoming the most trying hardship is within reach.

“Through Christ Jesus, God’s peace is the security which guards our hearts and minds from weapons intended for our demise.” _ASA
