"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." 1 Peter 5:8
Satan roams the earth in search of individuals whom he can wreak havoc in their lives. In John 10:10, we gain insight how the devil plans to devour unaware victims, via his mission to steal, kill and to destroy. By stealing joy & peace, killing God-given desires and destroying the destiny ordained by God, the devil sets our lives on a downward spiral from what God intended.
Many distractions and influences can deter us from the task of being watchful of ourselves. If we are not attentive, we can easily find the devil’s mission taking place in our lives. Walking with God, each day, helps us to be successful in being watchful of ourselves. Success is returning back to the task of being watchful of thoughts, words and actions, even after being distracted a thousand times a day. Overtime, we will notice our increased alertness extends to those around us and those we hold dear. Watchfulness toward others allows us to be sensitive to the unspoken areas in need of prayer on their behalf to be strengthen. Moreover, we become instruments in the hands of God to speak peace and encouragement to offset the devil’s attack in someone else’s life.
