“Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.” Proverbs 28:26
Thoughts can be unpredictable. One moment we are thinking about something concerning the present. The next moment, out of the blue, some random thought regarding the past dominates our mind. Unless the thought is intertwined with God, it’s unreliable and can’t be trusted. However, how many times have we followed our own thoughts, ending up with an undesirable outcome such as an unfulfilling job or relationship. An outcome which delays God’s plan for our lives. I wonder how many missed opportunities or sidetracked blessings occurred as a result of giving our thoughts credence. Thoughts lacking God as its foundation, our own thoughts, if embraced eventually turns us into unwise people.
Deliverance from the follies of believing thoughts notes in sync with God lies in living our lives in alliance with the Word of God, the wisdom imparted from its pages. Reliance on God’s wisdom transforms our thoughts into God-directed thoughts. Thoughts we can count on to portray as wise individuals.
