Keep Your Thoughts In Check

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5

Thoughts originate from multiple sources, showing up without an invitation to demand our attention. If we are not conscious to monitor them, the thoughts from destructive sources will dominate our thinking. Before we realize it, these thoughts will have caused havoc due to our inability to excommunicate the tainting thoughts upon their arrival.

Keeping our thoughts in check require us to be active in overseeing the meditations of our heart. Any reasoning or presumption that is against God’s wisdom should be immediately removed from our minds. Some circumstances will require us to excuse ourselves from conversations and even the company of people. In order to be successful in managing our thoughts, we must be acquainted with the ultimate standard, which is Jesus Christ. In 2 Corinthians 10:5, we are taught to endeavor to hold every and all of our thoughts under the light of Christ. Bringing our thoughts in alignment with the mind of Christ, obedient to His perception, we defend our faith in God .
