Thoughts Controlled By The Word of God

“The law of their God controls their thinking;
their feet do not slip.” Psalm 37:31

Have you ever considered what’s controlling your thoughts? I proposed the sources can be divided into two groups, internal and external. Our feelings is a primary internal source which contributes to the thoughts we allow to linger in our minds. Furthermore, our feeling can be further divided into physical and psychological.  Physically, if an individual has a headache, thoughts will not flow as fluent in comparison to if the headache did not exist. Psychologically, when we are sad, our thoughts tend to be downward rather than elevated. The world itself, is a huge external influencer on our thinking, afar as well as up  close. Afar, dilemmas in foreign countries impact our thinking along with the people we interact within our personal space. It’s unlikely our the thoughts will only be controlled by one source, whether internal or external. However, we can conclude whatever is regulating our thoughts is directing our tomorrows.

In the midst of multiple sources, the Word of God is the only guaranteed internal-external influencer to produce thoughts to ensure the stability of our steps or goings.  As we treasure the Word of God within our hearts, our thoughts are anchored and flow from a well of life. Externally, the practice of the spiritual disciplines of bible study and meditation fortifies the internal governance of God’s Word. Controlled thoughts lead to controlled words and controlled words lead to controlled actions by the Word of God.

“We are less likely to lose momentum in life
when our thoughts are controlled by the Word of God.” _ASA
