What we love and value, we devote our energy, time and resources to maintain and protect. From a biblical perspective, the high level categories of what we treasure are divided into temporal and eternal. Temporal consists of pleasures and things that are earth bound.. Whereas, eternal involves heaven bound desires. When we seek after material things, position and that caters to our flesh, our thoughts lean towards earthy matters. On the other hand, when we pursue things above and according to God’s will, our thoughts lean towards heavenly matters. Since our thoughts set the tone for the pace and direction of our life, it behooves us to treasure eternal things to govern our earthen journey.
