Thoughts to Meditate On

“But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.” Psalm 1:2

Unlike daydreaming, when the mind freely drifts from a present task at hands, meditation requires discipline to focus our mind on a specific thoughts. Both modes of thinking lead us into deep thoughts but each has its own benefits. Daydreaming was once thought to be a waste of time. However, recently, some daydreaming is considered essential for a healthy brain. Meditation allows us to focus our attention to eliminate the overthrow of thoughts entering our mind. Although, effective meditation requests an anchor to center our thinking.

Time spent meditating upon the anchor of God’s Word draws us to a place of understanding its content for empowerment. It’s not enough to read or memorize the Word of God. The greatest impact on our life is when we perceive or come to realize the intended meaning. In other words, understanding is manifested as we come to know how to make application of a particular verse or passage in our own life, and then do it. Through understanding God’s Word, we gain tools to live life as God intended.
