Adopted by God, Our Heavenly Father

"See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! …” 1 John 3:1

For God so the love the world that He gave. An act of love always involves giving. The depth of the love is expressed is what is given. However, it’s not from a  monetary perspective. For you can receive expensive things from an individual as a form of control. Although material gifts are nice to obtain, someone who places his or her agenda on hold to spend time to hear your thoughts is not to be compared to mere trinkets. Pure love is seen in sacrifice. How much a person gives oneself for you speaks volume of the love for you or the lack thereof.

In order to bring us into relationship with Him, God gave is only Son. Undisputedly, that’s love! Even though we desired punishment, God allowed is only Son to die in our stead. Very few people, if any, will die in the place of the guilty, to say the least, offer his or her only child. In submission to God’s will, Jesus died between two thieves, a display of His love toward God, the Father. Not only does love involve giving, but entails submission. As the adopted children of God, we too must learn and grow to submit to God’s will as a declaration of love and gratitude.

we will ever experience”_ASA
