Covered By Compassion

"As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.” Psalm 103:13

For the most part, parents tend to be patient with their children’s missteps. Whether  self-inflected or by happenstance, the response to the sufferings of their offspring is filled with sympathy and sorrow. The scrap on the knee from a fall, the backlash from a bad decision and the heartache from ignoring their parents’ warning.  No matter the hurt, the hands of kindness reach from the parent to the child to comfort and restore.

Individuals who honor and give reverence to God position themselves to benefit from the blessings of His compassion. We can display reverential fear towards God in our everyday life.  Every time we choose to live out the Word of God in our decisions reverence to God is documented. More so than our earthly parents, God’s compassion covers us in the woes we are unable to articulate. The mercy of God is second to none as He allows us to draw near to Him, despite our shortcomings. Furthermore, we count on His love and comfort in our struggles.
