MORE THAN ENOUGH

"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

We all have aptitudes and skills we thrive at and those other things which are not our forte. Some of us excel in tasks that require us to use our hands and others shine in tasks requiring intellect. An architect can design a beautiful mansion with all the amenities of comfort and luxury but lack the skillset to build it. Whereas, the general contractor has the expertise to make the drawings a reality and lack the creativity for the conceptual phase. Spiritually, some will find it easy to forgive and others will struggle with overcoming evil with good. Even though forgiveness is a work-in-process, the same individuals are among the greatest to support the advancement of God’s kingdom in the earth. It may appear that others have no trials but it is all an illusion. The need for God’s grace in everyone’s life validates that no one is without weakness.

The beauty of our weaknesses is the power of Christ is manifested in the midst. Although we should acknowledge God in all our pursuits, in our areas of strength, we tend not to depend on God as much as we ought. It’s in our lack, whether physical or spiritual, we learn how to cry out to God. It’s in our shortcomings and the discomfort due to lack that we draw close to God, which allows Him to draw near to us. The closer we are to God the more we begin to realize His grace fills the gaps caused by our weaknesses.
