Weak Yet Strong Because of God

Therefore I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities for the sake of Christ; for whenever I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10 NIV

How does one be content in midst of one’s weaknesses, adversities and difficulties? What allows a person to have a good attitude while being persecuted along with verbal offenses? It begins with choosing to have God-inspired thoughts regarding the woes we must endure. The Word of God is the source of thoughts inspired by God. A helpful thought to embrace tribulations is scribed in John 16:33: we ought to expect trails as a part of life but at the same time remain cheerful because Christ. 2 Thessalonians 5:18 provides an invaluable principle to govern our lives: no matter what life brings give thanks. When we give thanks it mortifies the temptation to complain, which deflates our ability to content in the trying times. For the sake of Christ, we keep it moving in moments of  discomfort and distress by His Strength.
