"As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.” 2 Corinthians 6:10
Life is not without its heartaches and disappointments. Each day offers the promise of something not going as expected. For some, it’s the lack of basic physical necessities that plagues their existence, filling them with fear of the next moment without needed resources. However, even with the basic needs met, others face the challenge of a sparsity of emotional and spiritual needs. We all encounter the experience of neediness which leaves us with some form of emptiness throughout life’s journey. Unfortunately, for many, depending upon the level of emptiness, the situation can be overwhelming. Whether, it’s physical, emotional or spiritual, the desire to be full is always evident. In regards to basic necessitates, fullness can be attained almost with no effort of our own when generosity is at work. Numerous platforms, domestic and foreign, are in existence aiming to ensure humanity’s basic needs can be met for the world at large. However, fullness obtained emotionally and spiritually can only be achieved personally through individual efforts from the person in need. The process begins with a decision to shift one’s mindset from the negative to positive. The decision is ongoing and the continuous effort brings a person to the place of becoming whole as well as maintaining wholeness. Strong willed people may find this task easily accomplished with the appropriate motivation. Nevertheless, for the majority, a supernatural strength greater than our own must be infused within us.
Supernatural strength from God is available to every one of His children. We’ll find throughout His Word many scriptures which speak of the imparted strength towards those who seek refuge in God.
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” Isaiah 40:29 “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13 “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7 “But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3
It’s through seeking God we can experience the opposite of our unwanted reality. As we grow into the knowledge of who God is, it allows us to have joy and the assurance He is for us and always has our best in mind, no matter what unfavorable circumstance is knocking on the door of life. In His strength, we can open the door with God standing by our sides. Not only knowing who God is but also knowing who we are in God breeds courage to stand, particularly after we have done all within our own strength. As we earnestly endeavor to be grounded in the Word of God, we enable ourselves to realize the promises of unspeakable joy and supernatural provision. Due to unfortunate realities in the natural realm, we may be overshadowed with emptiness. Nevertheless, in the spiritual realm, we are thriving. When we settle on the right perspective, the perspective that stems from God, our state of being is never ruled by the physical realm but the spiritual realm.
“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:17-18
