"Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy”.
Micah 7:18-19 (NIV)

The level that God forgives is exclusive to Him only. Micah 7:18-19 alludes to God’s delight to express mercy, allowing God to continue to forgive our shortcomings, blunders, and disobedience. In His Mercy, God continues to love us despite his hatred of sin. It is God’s nature to forgive, which is ultimately powered by His love for the world (John 3:16). Unlike mankind, God does not hold a grudge; rather, He is active and patient as He works to bring the call-out ones into, or back into, a relationship with Him. Forgiveness from God is necessary to have fellowship with Him. Without it, an immeasurable gulf exists between God and us. However, when we sincerely seek His pardon and repent of our sins, the gulf disappears. God is always waiting for us to forgive. Unfortunately, we do not always want to receive it. Through self-abandonment, we can position ourselves to receive forgiveness from God. It’s a choice to follow after God and no longer take the helm of our lives, willingly leaving our tomorrows in God’s hands.
“I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more”.
Isaiah 43:25 (ESV)
The verse, Isaiah 43:25, serves as God’s declaration of His authority and power to forgive and remove sin. There’s nothing we can do to earn or deserve God’s forgiveness. It is for His Glory and based on His character solely that God chooses not bring up past sins or seek to punish us. God wipes the slate clean of past trespasses. Once separated from God because our sins but God’s forgiveness restores us. A description of absolute forgiveness appears in Psalm 103:12, where God removes sins infinitely and completely. When we sincerely repent, God banishes the guilt and shame associated with our wrongdoings. As believers, we have peace knowing that God does not keep a record of our sins. In Christ, we are set free from the slavery of sin through his blood, our debt is cancelled, and we receive total pardon of our trespasses, according to the riches of God’s grace (Ephesians 1:7).
“As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us”.
Psalm 103:12 (NIV)

“All of our sins disappear in God’s forgiveness when we forsake the practice of sin and surrender to God’s will for our lives.”_ASA
